Bridges
Our Department of Bridges is experienced in the preparation of Concept and Detailed Designs for new bridge structures, as well as in providing Technical Assistance during the Construction Stage. We also undertake inspections on existing bridge structures and provide engineering advice to clients. The scope of our services generally covers the following types of structures:
- Road Bridges
- Rail Bridges
- Pre-stressed Concrete Structures
- Steel Structures
- Precast Structures
- Retrofitting of existing bridges
Our teams have significantly contributed to the overall development of our Transport Infrastructure projects, which is a core business area of VIAPONTE, interacting with all other departments of the company.
We also undertake projects directly for various public and private entities, with the aim to develop technically appropriate and economically advantageous solutions.
Since the foundation of Viaponte, we have been involved in a significant number of projects, gaining broad experience in state of the art viaducts and bridges, both in the Roads (Highways/ Motorways) and Rail Sectors. Recent experience in the Rail Sector includes work on the High Speed Rail project in Portugal.
The Bridges Team consists of experienced senior Structural Engineers, assisted by specialist Engineering Technicians. Resources used by the team include specialized software and CAD.
