Transport Infrastructure
Since the formation of VIAPONTE the Department of Transport Infrastructure has been one of our core strengths providing a full range of multidisciplinary engineering design and coordination services through all stages of projects such as:
- Motorways and Roads
- Railways and Metro Lines
- Airport infrastructure
- Harbour infrastructure
However our two main fields are Roads and Rail; the first one is explained below and the latter is in a separate sub-heading.
Roads
Our Roads team has been prominent in the development of highly competitive technical solutions at Tender Stage of PPP projects, being instrumental in the awarding of several of those jobs.
The staff includes Engineers and Designers with significant technical expertise, strong coordination skills and extensive national and international experience and supported by a motivated and efficient team of Engineering Technicians.
The technical teams use the latest developments in software specific to this area of engineering, diversifying the choice in order to exploit the best features of each application. Keeping the Inroads software as a base tool, MX-Roads and Civil 3D are also used, all tailored to the specific demands of each project. The experience gained in operating with different programmes allows us to work in several countries using the software required by each client.
We are also anticipating future needs and are developing, as part of the SOLVUS partnership, our own software, oriented to the development of designs relating to rehabilitation, expansion or realignment of existing roads, which allows the definition of optimized solutions, based on highly detailed and accurate digital terrain models generated by laser technology.
